4 Reasons Why I love my No.4

"Training to be soldier
Fight for our land
Once in our lives
2 years of our time
Have you ever wondered?
Why must we serve?
Because we love our land

I can't call myself the most patriotic person but if you are looking for a guy that have something good to say about his life in the army, I will tell you I am your man. I did try my best to get into command school which I didn't manage to because of my not-so-strong physique. I got myself posted to school of Signal and became a signaler and later spent my active days in the army as a signaler. I must say that those days are one of the most interesting and fun days of my life. You can't find another chance to stay in a room with 9 other men doing silly things together the country proud.

Although there's a lot of things in the Army that I believe we can see significant improvement but there's one thing I have to give it to SAF and that is our beloved SAF No.4.

CPL Leong in his SAF No.4
And here's 4 reasons why I love my no.4!!

1. It is WRINKLE FREE

Image: http://shirtoid.com/13171/ironing-man/
For friends who knows me well enough knows that I do a lot of house hold chore from cleaning to mopping to cooking (i try) but ironing is really one of those things that I really really really hate. Like I always tell people "If I iron a shirt to meet you, you must be someone important to me." So yeah, no.4 need no ironing to make you look smart at all. Unless we are talking about parade standard.

2. It is the most comfortable (Pyjamas)

Not as sexy but okay.
If you have served the army before, you will know how magical no.4 is when it comes to making you sleep. It makes one able to sleep anytime, anywhere and in any weather condition. It will make cold days feel warm and hot day feel cooling. This is really a state of the art technology. I have friends who bring them overseas as pyjamas when he was studying aboard. #TrueStory

3. POCKETS POCKETS POCKETS!!

Do you know how many pockets are there on our no.4? Not 1, not 2, not 3,4,5,6 but 10 in total. 4 on our top and 6 on our pants. You have no clue how convenient that is and it's not even ugly or make you look stupid. Can you imagine your how ugly will your shirt or pants be if there's 10 pockets?

So how do we usually use these pockets?

  1. Left Side Pants Pocket - Jockey Cap
  2. Right Side Pants Pocket - Power Bank
  3. Right Ass Pants Pocket - Wallet
  4. Left Ass Pants Pocket - Empty
  5. Right Pants Pocket - Handphone
  6. Left Pants Pocket - Bunk Keys
  7. Left Chest Pocket - Black Note Book + Pen
  8. Right Chest Pocket - Empty
  9. Bottom Left Shirt Pocket - 11B (For easy scanning at Cook House)
  10. Bottom Right Shirt Pocket - Car Keys

See! We practically kept more things on our body over a woman's clutch.

Image: http://handbagdujour.com/
I suspect all they keep is their handphone and condoms. Not even trojan magnum. Only okamoto i think. (If you get what I mean)

4. You don't have to wash it daily

Okay, to be honest, some people smells really bad in their sweaty no.4 but generally you do not need to have 5 sets of no.4 just for 1 week of activity in camp. The golden rule is 1 set for office and admin work and 1 set for anything dirty. So basically we rotate two sets of no.4 uniforms. We just air it or febreze it. It's that simple. Try that with your usual work clothes and you might just get fired for that.

There you have it, that's the 4 reasons why I love my no.4. For those who are unfamiliar, basically why it is known as the number 4 is simply because it is a numbering system of uniform. Instead of calling it the "green one" or the "office shirt", we do it with a numbering system. I was trying to find the different uniform but i guess it's not properly uploaded thus I didn't managed to find it off google but I remember reading it off pioneer magazine before.

Anyway, since I am away for reservist you probably gonna see less of me online. Not sure if that's good news for you but here's a music to keep you entertained while I'm away. (Also, totally doing it under the influence of my #BBFF behindtheback BehindTheBasics - Jac.)

Passing IPPT!

All hail the new IPPT SYSTEM! It has been 9 years since I last passed my IPPT!

Basically if you are reading from overseas, IPPT is this physical fitness test that has been a pain in the ass for many healthy male adults in Singapore.

Some choose to escape it by faking injuries etc and from that you can sense how painful it is.

As for me, I have been a regular to this thing known as the IPT and RT training where, you know, failures like just attend to get ourselves into shape for a few months in our life at camp after working hours. It is a very painful process.

The system was flawed in a way where the organization expects every solider of different functionality to be physically as fit as everyone else. Thus, they had a system where everyone need to pass every station (out of 6). In another words, failing in any single station and excel in another doesn't take the cut for IPPT.

BOOOOOOO!! (Image from mothership.sg)
Thanks to some genius, (unsung hero) the IPPT system was revamped earlier this year where there are 2 static stations and 1 running station. The scoring system is flexible meaning to say you are allowed to excel in one, and almost be bad and one and all you had to do is to pass the overall bottomline score.

And guess what?

I FUCKING PASS IT! Just because I pass it doesn't means I'm some fitness instructor and will give you a post on "5 ways to aces IPPT as an NS Men" but I do wanna share a simple tip with everyone and that is to abuse the system for it is. Like what I did was simply to practice a lot of push ups, get a good score for that and as you can see, my other two station was really borderline passes and nothing to be proud of.

I like to train push ups because you can do it anywhere and anytime and it's a very short exercise as compared to 2.4km run which makes you sweaty and all. As for sit up you need someone to hold you down or a proper whatever you call it to hold you.

I started training Push ups under the influence of my business partner/boss where he told me to just do it on a daily basis and if you can't do it, do the supported/"girl" push up. I started doing this almost 1 yr ago and I started with 1 set of 5. That was how bad I was 1 yr ago but I did it (almost) everyday and night. Sometimes even at work where I will do it before lunch. The trick is to do proper pushups where you do all the way down and come up slowly. During training, number is not the factor here. What matters is doing it right. Very quickly I am doing more than 100 each day accumulated. You can do 2 x 25 sets in the morning before you shower for work and 2 x 25 sets before shower after a day of work and that is already 100. Yes, showers are very important so you do not stink up the train.

Anyway now I have to keep it up and this ain't gonna be easy but I will try!

Here's a "world record of push ups". Guess how many did he do?

When you are in your 30s, there are some events that happens so often you have no idea how to be excited about it anymore. If you are wondering, yes, I am talking about events such as weddings, baby shower, baby's birthday etc etc kinda awkward social event where people gather too often enough to "show face".

As you should have gathered by now that I am not a big fan of such events considering how differently I did mine and also how small scale it was. I really hate it when people attend because they "had to" or they attend and give off negative vibe.

Me doing the whole stand up comedy thing when it was actually a speech.
That being said, October 2015 is a very special month. Not only did I attended a wedding happily, I attended 3 weddings happily. And when I said happy I really meant HAPPY HAPPY. Because these are some friends that I could never imagined them settling down. :X

Wedding No.1 - Jacky + Aggie

Jacky was a very special friend. A friend that I would love to keep close to my heart for many more years to come. I met him when I was a teenager from school. We spent a lot of time doing nothing and you know what they say about relationships that can just enjoy each other's company and do nothing. He was the guy who started my drinking "career". He would always put us before him back in the days. He would want to expose us to the world out there. Although we haven't been spending that much time together these days or have much similar goals or interest in life, he is one of those guys that I would always say, if not for him, there wouldn't be the Smith you see today.

He spent most of his post puberty life trying to find love. If there's a song I will pair him to his love life before his wife would probably be "find love in a hopeless place." I am very happy he found his wife. Although we might not be very close friends but I would say that his wife made him a much better person. And that is how relationship should be, making each other a better person. Not about changing each other, about influencing each other positively, about each other willingly adapting to each others life.

Wedding No.2 - Melpig + Huat

我們倆一起打著一支小雨傘

Where do I even start when it comes to this woman? She is one of those friends that enjoys a "love hate relationship" with me. No, we are not frenemies but more like those that enjoys bickering. Not too sure how she enjoys to be honest that but I sure enjoys disturbing her. haha

We met few years ago on Twitter and our friendship escalated on one of those night where I didn't have much to do and we started talking on Facebook and I got to know her better. Because of her, I was part of one of the world's largest service organization - Lions Club. I can't say enough how much I've seen and learn before of this opportunity given. She treated me like a lil brother (not so lil in terms of size), and her family treated me like one of them. She is never shy about how she feel about things or about me. We have been through lots of argument and happy moments together as well and I know she is the one person that will always help me as long as she can, even when she couldn't she will make sure she get me some help.

I am no love guru but the type of love that Mel and Huat has is very different. There's no fluff, no romantic "I love you" bs but I can tell that they have found a soulmate in each other. Love is not always rainbow, unicorns and pot of gold and this two knows it. They have each other in good times and bad and that's when you know they will always be there for each other. Mel is a fierce woman (gonna hide myself after this line) and Huat is the fiercer man that can keep her in place but yet at the same time you know huat shows his love and care in a very different manner. In a very traditional manly manner that is rare in man (or rather boys) these days.

Hidden behind her screams and table slamming skill, Mel is yet another 小女人 with her new hubby - Mr. Turbo Huat.

Wedding 3 - Sng Tan Kuai Le

And I did not even remember taking this picture that night

Do you remember when was the last time you got so drunk that you have no clue how you went home? I remember mine. It was just a few weeks ago during this crazy party. We had so much to drink and I even fell on the ground while going home and injured my chin, my face and my hand. That was how drunk I was! Eun Tan + YH Sng and together they are Sng Tan Kuai Le.

It was seriously one of the best wedding ever. No march in, no silly table photo takings and just many good looking people having a good time over food and booze. I was very proud to be the emcee for that night because this woman is one of those that I care a lot for. I always believe she deserves a good man and I am very glad she found a good man like YH. YH is quirky and funny in his own way. They call each other "bro" and they ain't even facebook friends. What a cute couple right? I really respect his "come what may attitude" which was demonstrated on his wedding day when the wedding car broke down. There was no argument, angst nor panic. He just took it as it is and he sees it as a positive lesson from the universe teaching them to do and solve things together as a couple. #SweetMax

I met eunice some moons ago at an event and I did not like her at all. I find that she "act one atas" and very dao but universe has his own way of working things out. We became colleagues and when you have common enemies you guys become tight very easily and when you are in an agency, life is like a battle field (everyday). We fought (together and each other), we had disagreement, I had to deal with her PMS emotions, she had to deal with my bad attitude and I almost died once in her car after a meeting where she was very affected (Yes, we been through life and death situation.  ) but we also shared many late nights together(working lah), laughing, gossiping and also partying. (few occasions only actually) We were so close we were known as the office spouse but all good things come to an end when she divorce me left the company for a greener pasture.

And we also have this very famous non-singing singing duet.

Marriage and Weddings

For someone who ain't into weddings or marriage, I sure did enjoyed myself a lot this October sending my friends off singlehood and into married life. "Welcome to Hell" I say. :x

Getting married is just the 1st step and I've seen 3 very different couple getting married within 1 month and I will say every couple has their own set of problems and happiness and it is not up to anyone of us to dictate what is right or wrong or compare who is a better couple. Every couple has their own way of making things work. Some choose to work as a team together while others work with one being the driver and the other taking a step back.

We all seek different things in life, to my friends who are seeking a happy ending in terms of marriage I hope you find your one and to those who prefers to stay single, may you have all the single fun on behalf of all the married.

Anyway, signing off with one of my favorite quote from a chick flick about relationship (duh).

Smith's Push Up Challenge!

You might not believe it but if you ask me what's my hobby these days I would probably tell you it's push-ups. Not simply because I've been training for IPPT but I actually really like the whole feeling of being able to do more and more push-up each day.

It's is not like I am very good at it (yet) or I can break a world record BUT I would love to have a push-up challenge with you. (Just for the fun of it)

How It Works

The mechanics is simple. You do not need to like my page, or share or what not. All you have to do is

  • simply leave ANY message like a dedication  (On any of my #PushUpSmith post, Instagram/Facebook/Blog)
  • leave your name (or URL or Twitter/Instagram Handle or Facebook Page)
It is as simple as that, and I will upload a video of a set of 100 10 push-ups with your message.

Examples

Example: Peter, I will dedicate this to world peace and also your mum.

Or you can take this chance to promote your own blog or business

Example: www.iamnotfat.net, please read my blog!

Or if tinder ain't working for you

Example: Jasmine, 24, 36-26-32. Single and Available. contact me at @JasmineHoneyGalz on Instagram

Or if you just want to say sorry

Example: Xiao_B3nGz, Bb I aM SorLI, PrIEst ForGib Me C4nZ? MuAckZ mUAckz. Lob CHiU NooOoOoOonG Timez. I pROmI5e I nO mOre DrinKz Gre3n T34 wIz JaSMine.

Anyway I am a human not robot. So I will have to do it bit by bit. (I mean this is just a disclaimer in case a lot of people decided to join. IN CASE LAHHHH)

Why Are You Doing This

Erm... For Fun?

Even they ask me to carry on.
And I probably wanna consolidate all the dedication and create another post.

Mr.Smith, PUSH IT! PUSH IT! SOMEMORE~~ A la la la la looongg~

So I've gotten a fair bit of comments but some of them are just, typical Smith's friend kinda reply where they just troll me. #Karma.

So if you are not too sure what's happening, you can check out the #PushUpSmith "TnC" - HERE.

But lucky for me, I did have 5 real dedication and here are the 5!

2. Colin aka The Minute Man

3. Ying Zi from www.idreamtobreakaway.com

4. Dan from Benbendiaries.wordpress.com

You can tweet me at @Smithankyou leave a comment on ANY post on Instagram @Smithankyou, leave it at any blog post comments, Facebook post and I will do some push ups for you and a vlog! So if you have some products to promote, it's actually very cheap and in fact freeee!!

P.S. Videos are all 1 take, very raw (the way I like it) because I like it this way and also because I am very lazy and bad at editing. And also because I want it to be really timely you see.

Have a happy Deepavali!!

Birthday Wish

Do you remember your birthday wishes?

I remember I used to wish for eternal life for me and my family when I was young. Like I just want us to be together forever.

I've no idea why I didn't wish for money or toys or not needing to study.

I guess I was really happy with those days where we sit around the living room having our home cooked dinner together watching our favourite 搞笑行动.

Life was much simpler. We didn't have internet. We were very exposed. We didn't have much of anything. I grow up in a middle lower family where we have simple things and go to neighbourhood school.

We really didn't have much but we had each other. Of course, life weren't all unicorn and rainbows. We have our ups and downs where we fought and we make up.

If I could choose again, that's still what I want. A time where we all stay together under one roof. Not busy with our own lives but how is that even possible right?

Here's our last picture together as a complete family.

And I also know birthday wishes are fake. So why not wish upon airplane?

Have someone to do it together? Please keep your request coming in or else erm.. I will nothing and we have to can this show? hahaha. #NOViewership :(

For those who knows my wife (actually nobody really knows her. She is like batman.) or actually met her before would know that she is a woman of few words when she is out in a social setting.

She might be a woman of few words but she always make sure it makes an impact.

And I believe a lot of my friends are actually very big fans of hers(shooting me) from the number of likes I get. You will see more.

I really wonder if they like her or just hates me.  -_-

Sudio VASA Review + Discount Code

Sudio is back with their new product VASA! If you don't remember Sudio, I actually did a review on the Klang some moons here. Read it here. CLICK CLICK CLICK LAH (don't stingy leh)

REAL MEN WEARS PINK!
So besides the high sound quality Sudio has always been providing, what really made me melt was the pink ear piece that goes very well with the new rose gold iPhone 6S. Nope, I did not change my phone but it goes very nice with my space grey phone too. (Himbo Moment)

And you know what else is the Sudio very good for? Taking nice pictures for your instagram. I have to confess that my Instagram ain't the prettiest around because of my lousy photo taking skill and laziness of curating content (Very sorry to my 6,000 followers. sigh. I promise to work hard on this.) properly but look at it's possibilities. Below is a snap shot of #sudio on Instagram.

Their pictures seriously put my picture to shame!

So what's new?

The Sudio VASA comes with a full-feature 3-button remote and mic for both Android and iOS!!

Good News

I did it once and I'm doing it again! Use codeSmithankyou15 to get 15% off!! You are welcome!
I think this make a very good X'mas present too!! (Yay! 5 more Fridays to X'mas!!)
http://www.sudiosweden.com/sg/earphones-collection

Christmas Is Coming!

Since it is just a Youtube video, it might not justify the sound quality of Sudio earpieces but here is my favourite Xmas song. And I am sure if you give sudio to anyone, nobody is going to give it away the very next day lah. So just give people earpieces and don't anyhow give people your heart.

Why Facebook Makes Me Sad

$
0
0
So last week I was happily traveling around Koh Samui (which I will blog about it. Soon. I hope) and I saw this "viral" post about "Facebook Makes People Unhappy" and I thought that was a pretty interesting post and I decided to click on it despite being overseas.

Me and my travel mates trying out the whole eat pray love thing. Nope, I'm more of a drink play fuck guy i guess.
GUESS WHAT? They only tell me it makes people unhappy but never state WHY! LIKE WHYYY!!!

So smithankyou decided to make a detailed study with our sample size of - 1. Here's some reason why I am unhappy on Facebook.

1. Envy

My life was pretty awesome until I saw how awesome other's life is and than I got sad. I might not be the most religious person around but I do agree that Envy is a very big pain in the ass sin. We are often shown only how good others' lives are on social media but who shows you the negative part of it right? That being said, we can't help to feel a bit unbalance when we see our peers life being super awesome, having good food, traveling, buying new bags and all. But truth is we can't measure their happiness based on what they are showing (off).

And I always try my best to be humble on social media. I've never whip out my dick my awesome collection of fats and show off. (so not to make my skinny friend sad.)

2. Facebook Etiquette

Facebook is brilliant when it comes to helping you stay connected with friends and even getting laid making new friends but with friends comes complication just like every community regardless of online or offline.

We live by different rules and nobody ever told you what's acceptable and what's not. Excessive tagging you on products, pasting nonsense on your wall, sending you game request (which can be turned off), asking you to like their page, excessive sharing like 1 post every 5 mins because he is at a concert or because he got a new child or even uploading disturbing images etc etc. How do you deal with it? Thank Facebook God for the unfollow function. Remain as friends on FB but not seeing their feed. Sounds about right, but generally the whole social effect leaves life too much to chance on how we can easily annoy each other.

3.Cryptic

This could have been a sub point under point number 2 but I thought this is a bigger thing on its own. It's really irritating how people will put a cryptic message right after have some disagreement with you, wait for your confrontation and gives you shit like it ain't about you. COMON. If you have the balls to post it on Facebook status, you should have the balls to say it in my face. And yes, being passive aggressive and cryptic makes me sad.

P.S. when i say "say it in my face" i don't me you go write a post and tag that person and wash dirty laundry in the public. Call that person or private message and sort it out?

4. Witch Hunting

Images from Mothership.sg who got it off Facebook.
We all remember this one I supposed. Else, here you go. The whole naming and shaming game has became so easy with Facebook. Snap a picture and tell a one-sided story and it pretty much goes viral instantly. So much empathy and love isn't it? I do not understand how this works. We all know the "one-sided story" term but yet people jump onto conclusion and felt like there's a need to judge who is right or wrong instantly. Who are we to judge?

And guess what? more often than not such post has nothing to do with everyone who commented. Like I always say, everyone has a voice but apparently not everyone has a brain.

I do not even blame the person who started the story because he or she was there or saw something that did not go so well with her moral and emotions rush in but what about everyone else who sits in front of the computer sharing and commenting irresponsibly? That's just appalling isn't it? I am no saint and I probably done something like this before as well but I hope this serves as a reminder that we should all think before we share.

5. Idiots, Idiots everywhere.

I'm just gonna leave this here.

--------------------------------------

So yeah, Facebook is fun and all but there are just way too much shit on it too isn't it? But funny how I'm still drawn to clicking that blue icon each day. Thank you very much for ruining my day, every day.

And here's a post that you might want to considering reading before posting anything else - 5 QUESTIONS TO ASK BEFORE POSTING ON SOCIAL MEDIA

So, Facebook makes you...

Momentum Review – Weight lost in 4 weeks.

$

*UPDATE: Apparently a lot of people still very confused. Scroll to the end for TL;DR Version

Weight management has always been the longest battle I ever have in my life. People always talk about the highs and lows in life and mine is pretty much talking about my weight.

That’s me in August – 102kg. Big Face Is Big
I was 90kg during my wedding last October. Yes, 2014 Oct. Which means within 1 yr I actually put on a good 12kg. I told myself this is no joke and this got to stop. It is not funny at all because I’ve been very active. I visit the gym at least once a week, play basketball once a week and some alternate weeks I will go for short runs.

Can you imagine me without all these activities? So what was wrong? I convince myself that it is because of my gym visits that I’ve been putting on muscle weight but who am I kidding right?

I was very worried that I will continue to put on weight and I try to watch my diet and after 2 months, I lost 2kg and my weight loss plateau at 100kg. It seems like my metalbolism has left the building as I passed my 30thbirthday.

So how much weight did I lose?

I guess I got it lucky because solution found me very quickly. I was introduced to a weight loss program known as Momentum. Got Picture Got Talk. Here’s a picture of me Nov 2015. 1 month odd into the program.

So I lost a good 8kg within 1 month with the help of Momentum Stage 1 program. Not photoshop hor, my face really much sharper.
This might look a bit fake because I’m all wrapped up.

Six Pack (coming soon) #JustSayin. Look at my collar bone!! OMG! I MISS YOU COLLAR BONE!!
So now I’m standing at 1.80m weighting 92kg. Not exactly ideal yet but I say WIP.

So what is Momentum?

Momentum might look a little intimidating at 1stglance. Pills booklet and all. If you want me to summarize Momentum in one sentence, this would be it:

“Momentum is a lesson to change your lifestyle.”

Momentum ain’t just about pills eating and miracle happening. It is a lesson that change your life. Yes, it requires some discpline to watch your diet but it is one that is worth spending effort on.

The month of October has been a tough month for me as I attended 3 parties and  I was stuck in reservist for 2 weeks. I can’t prepare my own food in camp and I had to work around it myself.

A full 3 stage plan that will change your life.
Momentum is a 3 stage program. My 30 days program is just stage 1 and stage 2 and 3 is more about maintaining the lifestyle.

The 3 main players of Momentum would be Diet Plan, Carnitine and Multi Vitamin.

Diet Plan

Diet doesn’t means starving yourself silly and neither does it mean that you eat nothing but an apple a day.  In Momentum’s diet plan, not only does it teaches you what can be eaten and what can’t be, it also includes a detailed recipe book where you can follow. As the picture shows above, it can be very delicious too!

That means I must cook daily?

I got it easy with my maid and wife helping me to prepare the healthy meals. But I must confess that I did not follow very closely to the plan because of the parties and reservist but I do my best.

There are days that I had no choice but to eat out as well. Yes, I “cheated” on the program. There were days that I had mix vegetable rice as lunch and it is really not that hard. I avoided certain food type according to the advice given in the program. I am very into alcohol but I avoided beer and go whiskey on the rock instead.

Diet is really a lifestyle and if you jump into it without cutting yourself some slacks, you will just go crazy one day and eat it all and you will then bounce back. I think what really worked well for me is that I really had to ease myself into it. On days where you have very bad cravings, I believe you can still cheat but at a small amount.

End result? 8kgs in 30 days. Can you imagine the effect if I managed to stick closer? I was actually aiming for 12 kg at least but I guess I can keep working on it.

Carnitine

Drip this under your tongue daily.
What is Carnitine?

Carnitine is a vitamin-like organic compound that is synthesized by the body using amino acids lysine and methionine, with the help of vitamin C and iron. The body usually produces about 10 percent of required Carnitine. Because the body’s own Carnitine synthesis only reaches an optimum level at about the age of 15, it has become a popular supplement for baby milk formula.
What does Carnitine do?
Carnitine plays a crucial role in energy production, helping fatty acids reach the mitochondria, the cell’s power producers, where they are converted into energy In short, Carnitine helps the body to optimally burn energy.
The Carnitine supplement strengthens the effect of the Carnitrin® ampules during Stage 1 of the Momentum® Program because it (just like the ampules) contains a high dosage of Carnitine.

The high dosage ensures that the fat metabolism is stimulated and helps clients to burn as much fat as possible in Stage 1 without losing energy.

The food supplement is also suitable for usage in Stage 2 and 3, especially for clients who want to burn more fat.

So what is in it? Is it even safe?
Here’s the chart and you can actually google and do your research on each of the ingredient.

Super Effect!

Not only does carnitine has no negative side effect, it actually has positive effect too. Carnitine has also been shown to reduce fatigue and serve as an appetite suppressant as well. Therefore, l-carnitine would be a major asset to have in your arsenal when you are dieting. It not only will help keep your body from storing fat, but it will increase your aerobic capacity to help you burn more calories. Will the weight bounce back or not ah?

This is almost like asking me if the new BMW you buy can drive for the next 50yrs. (COE aside for debate purposes)

If you follow this life style half hearted or celebrate your weight lost by eating and stop being active I am sure no magical pills can save your life.

Like I mentioned earlier, Momentum is not just a dieting product but also a change of lifestyle. If you can keep up the lifestyle and learn how to manage your life with the help of momentum, you will be the person you wish to see in the mirror.

Of course, it is easier said than done. I am also learning.  And I think (I hope) I will not be weak and give in to the dark side again. (Oh yeah, can’t wait for the new Starwars movie)

How can I be part of this?

I've been to Thailand for a good 10 years before 2015 and in 2015 I actually visited Thailand 3 times? Bangkok, Ko Samui and Phuket. Although they are part of Thailand but all 3 places felt almost different?

What's a trip to Thailand without visit Temples right?

My office has a better view than yours!
Healthy Food is Healthy. Totally works for my diet plan! If you haven't - HERE

And if you have been reading my blog you will noticed I've better pictures this time! Thanks to a friend's camera and another teaching me how to edit my pictures. It's not the best best but I think it is good work in progress. After like 10,000 years of blogging and I'm finally having some decent pictures. I think it really looks kinda decent lah hor. And besides the fact that Ko Samui is really pretty and some of my pictures doesn't even do it justice. sigh.

Anyway, presenting to you Ko Samui in numbers!

0 is the number of

Since I say I didn't eat, obvious this picture was from another trip right?
Pad Kra Pao I had. This Pad Kra Pao is actually like my favourite thai food ever BUT the truth is there's a lot more food in thailand than just Pad Kra Pao!

1 is the number of

MANGO STICKY RICE! No Trip to Thailand is complete without Mango sticky rice!

2 is the number of

times we had massages and spa treatment! Kamalaya Wellness Sanctuary and Holistic Spa was more than just another spa parlour. They are actually a resort for you to find yourself again (if I may). They have different lessons such as gym, yoga etc, and their rooms has no TV? It's seated on top of a mountain(or was it hill) and the view was beautiful! It's one of those things you do after a break up or the whole "eat pray love" thing? And another spa treatment was actually done at Dusita Spa which is along the heart of Ko Samui where you have all the pubs, food, street shopping. I really love how busy the streets were!! #CityKid

also the number of temples we visited. Not exactly the most religions person out that but the visit to the Wat Khunaram (Mummified Monk) was pretty interesting. Like his body just didn't decomposed on its own. Can you believe it?

3 is the number of

CENTARA GRAND BEACH RESORT SAMUI 38/2 Moo 3, Borpud, Chaweng Beach
CENTARA VILLAS SAMUI 111 Moo 2 Maret, Nathien Beach Samui 84310, Thailand

THE LIBRARY
14/1 Moo2 Chaweng Beach, Koh
Suratthani 84320, Thailand
Resorts we were hosted at! We were hosted at two different Centara resorts and The Library. The Centara has this classic feel to it where it will definitely be a place you want to bring your family with you to have a good break from the city. They have a wide range of rooms that caters to different needs. The Library was a not just a thematic resort but it was also super pretty. It is so pretty that I had problem capturing how it looks like? You guys should really check out it's site. It will definitely be one of those resort that I will visit again! And yes, guys who wants to impress a girl (or two. or three) this is the place you bring her to and you guys will have a good time if you get what I mean.

4 is the number of

Crazy Singaporean Writers I travelled with! So besides me there was this #TheTravelIntern dude, pohtecktoes who happens to be my ex intern from 7/8 years ago. And also the young girl writers who were super energetic. They are Jaslyn from Asia361.com, June from Sethlui.com and Jessica from SuperADRIANME.com. Funny story, 3Js!! And I have to say these 3 sites are damn nice to me? They know I would prefer their young intern instead of traveling with Alvin, Seth and Adrian themselves so they decided to send all 3 young girls to me. YES! #FriendsForever I owe you guys! (And they finally taught me how to use snapchat. Old man is old already. Not catching up.)

And oh, I did not fail my math (just a C6 during my O levels), there is this other gentlemen there who is the representative from Bangkok Airways! And do you know Bangkok Airways is the only airline to fly to Ko Samui? And the airport belongs to them! How freaking cool right?

18 is the number of

calories probably in kala noodles. Kala noodles means coconut husk noodles. Not because it is cooked with coconut but because it is served in a bowl that looks like a coconut husk. To be honest I've no clue how much calories is in there. It tasted pretty healthy to be honest. And also you know the place that was selling this is freaking cool? It's like a road side store on the outside and a super pretty resort on the inside. How pretty? GPGT!

The street store outside.
Villa Nalinnadda 84310, Thailand. I got confused with the address but here's the number. +66 77 233 131

To be honest I've no idea if that the right name but it's damn nice? I'm sure you will like it!!! Very local and you know they have all these pictures of celebrity taking pictures with the auntie. They have a few different style. Like crab sauce, spicy fish oil sauce etc etc. I love the spicy fish oil one. It's very tasty and it's not spicy like overpowering and you only taste nothing but chili? And their dessert is superb!! They have this pulut hitam looking thing with corn? That's my favourite! Super sweet (like you guys reading my blog) and yummy!

93737 is the number of

The Grand Father CRock!
My Favourite Model.

If you remember my BKK Trip you would remember that I wasn't really impressed but I actually had a pretty great time at Ko Samui. So maybe I'm more of a resort holiday person I guess? Anyway, here's the poll of the post! Is Ko Samui a place you will visit someday?

Thank you Kobe.

It was just another Monday morning (Singapore Time) or so I thought. I woke up to multiple notifications on my phone. Not just from Bleacher Reporter, NBA official APP, Twitter, Facebook, Whatsapp but almost every other possible app I have installed. The news of the retirement of THE Kobe Bryant. The news hit us almost like a death of a super star. (nah, still alive.)

It's one of those things that we see it coming sooner or later with his final year contract up with the Lakers and also how his performance was like for the past few games, but yet it ain't all that easy to accept it from the Mamba himself. As a Lakers fan and a Kobe fan we were disgusted by the performance from an individual as well as from the team. This is how it is, we don't discount Kobe's for his contribution to the NBA as well as to the Purple and Gold for the good twenty years but neither can we be delusion and say that he is still at his peak. All said and done, it is sad to see him go down that road.

It's almost like deja vu like how we saw Olajuwan struggled at Raptors, Ewing at Magic or even Malone at the Lakers. Nobody wants to remember the downfall of their favourite superstar. Just like how I never really register Penny Hardaway's stay at Heat or Phoenix. It is painful to see your favorite players being bullied by the lesser players. It sucks.

Kobe will always be Kobe. Kobe is not just a player to us. Kobe is a spirit. A fighting spirit, a never say died attitude.

We said things. No doubt. Even as fans I've said things. I hope he be the bigger player who can adapt his play to make the team better and not play as selfish as he was doing. But that is Kobe. The alpha dog spirit. How he will always put responsibility on him to make things better when the team is down. However, you can't beat mother time. You can't just turn the clock back just like that right?

Regardless how bad these last few seasons had been, Kobe will always be Kobe. He will be someone we will remember for a long time. (P.S. Yup, he didn't beat Jordan's 6 rings or overtake the scoring title from Kareem Abdul-Jabbar. Almost 6,000 points shy.

Thank You Kobe. Thank you for everything. Thank you for all those adrenaline you given us in front of the TV. Your legacy will be forever.

Here one from my brud, @mambadt!

I will leave you guys here with Kobe's announcement which could be found on The players' tribune.

Dear Basketball,

From the moment
I started rolling my dad’s tube socks
And shooting imaginary
Game-winning shots
In the Great Western Forum
I knew one thing was real:
I fell in love with you.
A love so deep
I gave you my all —
From my mind & body
To my spirit & soul.
As a six-year-old boy
Deeply in love with you
I never saw the end of the tunnel.
I only saw myself
Running out of one.
And so I ran.
I ran up and down every court
After every loose ball for you.
You asked for my hustle
I gave you my heart
Because it came with so much more.
I played through the sweat and hurt
Not because challenge called me
But because YOU called me.
I did everything for YOU
Because that’s what you do
When someone makes you feel as
Alive as you’ve made me feel.
You gave a six-year-old boy his Laker dream
And I’ll always love you for it.
But I can’t love you obsessively for much longer.
This season is all I have left to give.
My heart can take the pounding
My mind can handle the grind
But my body knows it’s time to say goodbye.
And that’s OK.
I’m ready to let you go.
I want you to know now
So we both can savor every moment we have left together.
The good and the bad.
We have given each other
All that we have.
And we both know, no matter what I do next
I’ll always be that kid
With the rolled up socks
Garbage can in the corner:05 seconds on the clock
Ball in my hands.
5 … 4 … 3 … 2 … 1
Love you always,
Kobe

The last time I changed a new layout was in March and to be honest it haven't been that long but.. I got bored. I missed my side bar so I wanted it back. And also there was some backend issue.

I was looking around for very long and in fact I almost gave up and just get someone to help me do it. BUT I DID NOT!

And I am telling you, this blogpost is really irritating. Lots of limitation etc etc. but I managed to get something decent up eventually.

Yes! I added Ben Ben Diaries to my sidebar! YAY! And also you just got New Layout-ception by an older post of me talking about my change of new layout in March. LOL.

Nice or not?

2015 is almost coming to an end. This seems to happen every year, the sudden realisation that the year is coming to an end and it's about time to look back at the year and wonder how much I've achieved or lost. (or how many romantic comedy/chic flicks I've watched. I'm sure there's a very big girl inside me and no, I'm not talking about my breakfast)

November is like the month that I've worked really hard. Not just because I had to but because I want to, because I do not want to look back at 2015 and say I did nothing. (Which is not true because I do crazy things to top my own list annually. I always top my productivity or try to top it nearing to year end. Very typical school kid style of studying because exams are around the corner which I am not very good at. My academic result really one of those biggest regrets I've in life? My O levels L1R5 like fking 32 points? I told a friend recently and I think he fell off his chair, rolled two rounds around the soccer field and then died. But okay lah, we are still friends. I'm not so petty lah. *flips hair*)

So I spent my November trying to be a better person for myself as well as my unborn-child who is on the way in another 70 days time or so.

I had a very good holiday, I travelled twice in the month and you know what they say about you gaining more from traveling over books right? But only thing I gained during the trips was weight. I am sure they make some mistake somewhere with that quote. (And yes, I know I said I worked very hard but it's kinda like a work trip so I was really working very hard on the trips. I really worked hard lah!)

Benedict Cumberbatch does not like my vlog either. He told me the other day and I took this using snapcat. And oh, I'm finally using snapchat but I still can't figure it all out yet. Like seriously what is it for again???
I continued to do my push-ups(which btw I've canned my stupid pushup vlog cause nobody watches it and it really suck!), I started running (not from people. not this time. :p) again, I cut my 5km timing to 31mins (Best timing so far, still slow. I've always run around 35-34 region),

I continued my healthy eating habit (after the trips and besides my occasional cheats with chocolate.) and I lost another 2kg within the month, after losing 8kg the last month.  #YAY And i think i'm moving faster not just running but also in my basketball game.

I changed my blog's layout which erm, 1 person voted it's lame and 7 person voted okay lor, nobody reads my blog. Nobody read still got votes leh.

I started working on Ben Ben Diaries - The book. Yes, you hear it here 1st. I am going to be a published author, how fking crazy is that with all my grammar mistakes right? But this is a really interesting learning journey. We've never imagined publishing a book together when we first started and here we are in talks with publisher and all now. #StartedFromTheBottomNowWeAreAbitAbove

So part of my effort of becoming a better person is to read. I got my hands on the kindle(I still don't believe I did). I hate to read as a kid and it didn't change much over the years and that probably explained my bad fundamental in my language. I think reading is something I wish my son would love and enjoy so it will be easier for him. Reading is very tough for me cause I don't really find joy in it and I read so so so slowly. Like i really want to know the information and story but reading just takes up too much time. sigh. I really wish I could like speed read and people would be impressed and say "OMG YOU ARE SO FAST!" #ThatsNotWhatSheSaid

Besides reading, I've also been spending some time on my camera trying to take better pictures which I think I'm beginning to show some improvement? (I hope).  Very soon I will be like a professional photographer that goes shooting for events to get exposure and portfolio. (sure bro)

And November being my brother's anniversary was never easy to begin with but I doubt that's the reason I'm so busy.

Finally, Kobe announced his retirement. (Which of course has nothing to do with me and November but I'm just bringing this up anyway.)

So that's November. What's up for December and 2016? Exciting days await!

I was a little surprised when I heard Alcatel launched a new smart phone but that's not the only surprise I've got after asking around and did some research online.

This Android OS Smart phone only cost you $199 SGD at launch (4 Dec 2015) on http://www.lazada.sg/alcatel-flash-2/. That's actually really affordable considering how smart phone these days are always rather expensive?

And just look at these pictures I saw taken by Claudia from Alvinology.com when she was in NZ!

So I was quite surprised by how nice the pictures are that I had to message Claudia to find out if she did any edit to the images but the answer was no! Quite a phone for the price isn't it?

13M pixel. For some reason it felt better from those pictures taken by Claudia.
To find out more: http://www.alcatelflash.com/flash-2/

The surprise the Alcatel tell is giving just doesn't stop here? They even have a giveaway!! #DontSayBoJio

Simply tell them what you like about the phone and stand a chance to win? EASY!! Link

I'm gonna join this and hope I can win something! Good Luck to you guys! I mean bad luck to you guys so I can be the winner! :P

Always wanted to do this and I finally got to it.

Of course this was inspired by the great Michael Jordan.

Of course the kinda great rapper Macklemore has this song and of course he did it as well. Every kids' dream to be like mike?

Anyway, here's Wing$.

P.S. Thanks Ian for the shooting the pic and Jac for editing the color for me.

I hope we are done with the days where we judge people with tattoos. We are no longer in the era where tattoos means nothing more than secret society.

What? You say I am ah beng? Tuck yew understand?
Back in the days, tattoos were used by sailors to help others identify their dead bodies in case their face got smashed in war. Not too sure if this story is better than the secret society one but that's what I gathered about the history of tattoo I guess?

To me, ink is not just art. They are stories and they are supposed to be meaningful and a form of expression for me. I know some of you might not agree but well this is me.

Jac, "Smith you know how I got (inspiration for) my 1st tattoo right?

Me, "How?"

Jac, "I just woke up one day and wanted something and I went and do it. End of story."

I figured out if both Jac and I are bros we will pretty much be like Joey and Chandler. LOL. (The do silly things part)
She got a star.

This is also why people don't get how Jac and I are #BBFF when we are almost totally different on most scales. LOL. Our friendship is basically built on gossips. And if you guys are our common friends you guys probably were or still is our high tea topic.

I got my fourth. Thanks Jac for taking the pics!

I kinda miss the pain. It's a good type of pain really.

Even their box looking so sleek and sexy! (Like me. okay, you might disagree the part about me.)

We all love gifts especially since it is Christmas but there are things we joke about like giving fragrances means the receiver is smelly? And does getting skin care products means my face is damn bad shape?? NOOOOOOOO!!!

That's obviously not the case (I hope)!! I am sure if your partner get anything related to wellness for you is simply because they care about your well being. (Erm, unless it is sliming pills?)

Anyway, see what I've gotten from the good people from www.tonickit.com I'm actually very excited to try out all their products and see how my face transform!!

Stay tuned to this space and I will share with you more about what tonickit is all about! Meanwhile you can also click on the link above and check it out yourself.

Mr.Smith, cleaner skin gets more kisses. #TrueStory
