Taking pictures has become a very big part of my life these days. Not just because of my obsession over Instagram (okay, it could be. Probably is. : / ), but partly also because I realized the importance of capturing moments in life.
Moments are like people; they don't come back after they leave you in life. I guess the good thing is that we can freeze moments with our cameras but not people. (I know we actually CAN freeze people but that's a little morbid but erm..)
I used to have an old point and shoot camera almost 10 years ago that I brought around to simply shoot random stuff, but I soon outgrew it thanks to camera phones. I never got myself "back into photography” after that mainly for a few reasons:
1. Cameras got way too expensive
2. DSLRs got too huge (hence I was too lazy to bring them out)
3. DSLRs got wayyyy too complicated with all the functions
4. Point and shoot cameras could be a questionable buy with the improved quality of cameras on phone
5. Photo development services got less common thanks to digital cameras
I'm one of those who like to have physical copies of stuff, not just for photos but even for reading. I got myself an eReader sometime back but I still ended up with copies after copies of books lying around at home. The wife and I actually have this habit of printing out physical photos and sticking them all over the place.
So now with the FUJIFILM Instax Share SP-2, it's so easy to do that! We can literally just shoot anything anywhere and then print out via my mobile phone or the X-A3.
If you are printing via the mobile phone, all you have to do is download the Instax SHARE app and you can configure the settings. The app also has the SNS Function which allows you to select pictures from your social network sites such as Facebook, Instagram and even Weibo!!!
Look! They even allow you to add the frame that indicates it came from Facebook and the number of likes! There are also some other preset frames for different holidays etc. It's really great if you are into scrapbooking! (And hoarding LOL)
I digress. Recently I was introduced to the new FUJIFILM X-A3 camera as well. If you have the same reasons as me to not get into photography or get a camera, this probably is your solution.
The X-A3 is very light and portable, comes with easy to use preset functions, 180 degree tilting LCD for selfies (cough, probably one of my favourite functions) and it has a wireless capability that allows you to connect it to the Instax Share SP-2 where you can print your pictures anytime anywhere!! This is especially useful when we travel! We no longer need to carry a heavy camera and walk for 10,000 miles.
Sorry, act cool selfie because girlboss say I look fat when I smile.
And if you are someone like me who likes their gadgets to not only be useful but also pretty, the X-A3 actually comes in a nice retro look unlike all the big black bulky cameras in the market. P.S. for the ladies, it actually comes in a PINK version too!!!
See! Damn pretty right!
A lot of us get intimidated by how some cameras have so many different types of lenses. What 27mm? What 1.4/f? What is 50mm? I know of many people who have told me they would rather not care so much and just want an everyday camera.. The X-A3 comes with a 16-50mm kit lens which pretty much does that AND it also has the option of changing lens when you desire different types of photos. I'm currently lusting after the 27mm lens,, which is pretty good for street photography!
Here are more pictures taken using the X-A3 with the XC16-50mm lens -
And of course, not just for scenes but our daily "model" - FOOD!
