Singapore Sex Trade and Social Media

$
0
0
Been awhile since I actually talk about "sex" on my blog and that means that it has been awhile since there was a leaked on certain videos or pictures. But what is more interesting this time is actually spotting sex trade on social media.

There is nothing to hide about red light district since we all know the infamous Geylang and maybe some prefer Changi or Desker road but I was kinda taken away to see sex being sold on Social Media platform too.

Maybe I am ignorant or I'm too old for this shit but I am actually kinda impressed but how it is being run.

It might be a little NSFW or in fact NSFEveryone. I just thought it's way too in your face.

So how did I actually found this page? Simply because FACEBOOK ACTUALLY APPROVED THEIR ADs! If you do not know what is Facebook Ads:

Seen on the right side of Facebook bar. It's a shame that I click the ad too quickly without knowing what it was without having an actual screen shot of that. (Appreciate anyone sending them in if they managed to capture it.)

At this point you might want to ask me what is the problem and why am I kicking a fuss? Cause Facebook users are as young as 13 years old (legally, meaning I am sure there are younger) and look at their content.

I am not saying that I am a saint or I disapprove sex and being judgmental (you guys know how much I like and embrace the gutter) but I just feel that there should be a right time and right place for everything. These content are just too way in your face. Although they are not naked but I kinda feel that these words are worst than nudity. Imagine you 13 year old son come and ask you about Bare Back? (And I am also very disturbed by how ugly they are actually.)

As a marketer we have always been arguing about how to convert fans into sales and I guess these guys should have some insights no? They actually know how to put links and all, I think they are very professional! Considering how they actually know how to buy ads! Amazing no?

And you think they are the only ones? Apparently not, recently we had a new follower on one of my client's twitter account.

So they actually know how well it will work and the attention they will get by following accounts with a great following. That's not all, they know content management too!

Addressing fear.

Sharing some insights of the business.

HR department at work.

Just when I thought Sammyboys is the best we can do about Singapore local internet sex trade, we just see things topping it. I am into sex and I love Social Media and how SMEs embrace on it but Sex trade.. I am not too sure if I can swallow (pun intended) this just right now. And is this even legal to begin with?

TLDR Version: Sex Trade on Social Media, I'm surprised and impressed at the same time. What's your thought?

Mr.Smith, so can Sex blogger finally do review and ask for free sex?

Shopping For Christmas

This is the season to be shopping…for Christmas gifts! But there are some (i.e. me) who need help in looking for gifts. Though I like the idea of gift packs (But really, who doesn't? Gift hampers are super!), I prefer to find something that's uncommon and interesting during this time of the year.

With that in mind, I've just narrowed down my choices by default and cornered myself. HOW. DILEMMA.

So are you a bad gift shopper too? (You've no choice by to say yes, tee hee!) Is it because:

A.     You don’t know what your friends like, or
B.     You’re just bad at shopping.

I’m bad at shopping. It doesn’t help when I don’t know what my friends like as well. OH MY FAIL. Perhaps this lethal combination has me finding it difficult to shop for presents and that’s why I’ve to put in extra effort when shopping for friends, especially since I've ruled out gift packs too. Thankfully though, I’ve recently found a solution!

The key is to ponder, look around, get inspired and don't buy the first thing you see! It works for me, what about you? What's your secret to great Christmas shopping?

[Giveaway] SantaCon Singapore 2013!

"Ho Ho Ho! Merry X'mas!"

It is the time of the year again where Mr. Santa Claus gets really busy giving out presents from the list of Naughty or Nice. The nice boys and girls will get the present they asked for and the naughty one will get.. well.. this..

That's me in 2007.
Your most non-traditional Santa Claus. He's orange, with a sword and more of all, Chinese. Life was a little hard back then when I was the only Santa around town that I have to be the one doing gifting as well as maintaining law and order. It was not too bad cause I use to have like elves and a pretty Santarina.

Old photo from yesterday year, please pardon the bad quality.
Ever since I retired from the role of Chinese Santa Claus (I shaved my beard, lost that belly and gotten younger), life have been getting better for the younger generation (So that's what they say every where. In the Navy, in the Army and even at Santa Corp.) They have a lot of help, not just 1 Santa, 2 elves and 1 Santarina but this Christmas, they are coming in a big company of 300 Santa Claus and amongst them are many many pretty Santarina!

SantaCon Singapore 2013!
So what is this invasion of Santa Claus about? It is actually the Santa Con Singapore 2013!

SantaCon is an international festive phenomenon where revellers in cities around the world, gather and dress in Santa costumes to embark on a jolly excursion with singing and dancing performances. So what's gonna happen on that night?

MISS SANTABELLA

15 ladies will battle out to be the face of SantaCon Singapore by exhibiting their skills of knowledge, beauty, talent – and ultimately, kindness.
SANTA HUNT - Set out on a Christmas-themed treasure hunt, as Santas make their way along the riverfront.

LAST STAG STANDING - Battle against a live opponent or the "Jägerettes" and claim your rightful place as the strongest stag.

So where are the FREE tickets?

So I have with me 5 pairs of tickets up for grabs! And how do you win it?

[Giveaway] Merry Taobao SEA Christmas!

I am kinda like a Christmas Grinch because of my work. I work extra hard on festive seasons like these because of the industry I'm working at. Events and marketing to support this cultural imperialism (if you may) season. It is all about buying and gifting and buying and gifting. So why am I so unhappy? It's not because I don't receive but simply because I am always working, attending events and what not and that leaves me with very little time to shop of gifts for the people I love!

Christmas 2011 where I spent hours and hours on this bus making others' Christmas awesome.
Times has changed and this time round I do not have the same problem because Taobao SEA IS HERE TO SAVE THE DAY!

If you haven't read or heard about it, it is about time to get fascinated by the world of Taobao! So what is Taobao? It is this fascinating online shopping web portal which allows you to buy literately ANYTHING. (Before you get too bored of reading my jibber jabber blog post, I am giving you a headsup that I am giving away 4 x 500RMB gift card for your Christmas Shopping, so please stay tuned till the very end. )

This is SEA.Taobao
So like many other shopping sites, you can simply surf around to buy what you want or simply key in what you wish to search and like I mentioned earlier, the most wonderful thing about Taobao is that you can find everything and now, you do not need a third party agent to help you with you purchase because you are not from Singapore.

As I'm a hoarder toy collector, my very first instinct is to find all the things that is so difficult to find at the retail stores in Singapore. One of the toy collection that I've yet to be able to complete. The marvel universe action figures!

No surprise, they have got every single figure I wanted. All these toys are from different sellers and to make things easy, I prefer to get all from the same seller.

But apparently his "shop" did not list one of those I wanted. What do you do? They actually have this "IM" known as Wang Wang (Instant Messenger) that allows you to communicate with the seller on the fly with any question you have! I ask him about it and he actually has it in stock too!
Please bear with my not so proper Chinese sentence structure. On Wang Wang, you can even ask for a discount or free shipping if you have purchased in a bit bulk. (Or thick skin enough like me. :X)

And because of Wang Wang, things can be discussed fairly quickly, they will actually tell you immediately on certain items that runs out of stock etc. So it is really easy to use. I once had an experience with other site that you can only Email to ask question and it took me 72 hours to correct my order and it was too late because they already sent that item out. So I'm really glad they have this function!

Closer look at the Wang Wang. Seller telling me that 1 of the figure was out of stock.

So on my previous post, I've discussed about this forwarder that you can use. It's really convenient. So you can have 3-4 items sending towards the forwarder and you do not need to send it to Singapore immediately 1 by 1. You can actually keep it there and wait for all your purchases to reach, consolidate before sending them over.

Let our powers 合拼!!
 FAQ

How do I pay?

This is like the most common question I am getting these days. So far there are two ways that I've tried. 1 is paying directly using your credit card OR you can simply go to any AXS machine and purchase these shopping credits. Top it up to 支付宝 which is like an internal paypal system and you can shop away. Paying with 支付宝 is a very simple process especially for those who are very concern about your credit card details. Point to note: you are not allowed to split your payment using half shopping credit and half on your credit card. If you really wish to do so, I suggest you split your products into two groups and make two payment instead of one.

All my loot came in good condition and on a Sunday! Can you believe it? They did delivery on a Sunday!

Looks like Durian delivery! LOL.

Big boy is happy!
So I managed to find all the toys I wanted within a few minutes online instead of doing all the walking around town and getting nothing but disappointment.

Here comes the giveaway:

So I have with me 4 sets of 500RMB gift cards to giveaway!
Step 1: Simply "LIKE"Taobao SEA Page
Step 2: Simply "LIKE" The AWESOME(and kinda empty) fictional character page of Smithankyou.
Step 3: Leave your comment under the comment box on Facebook saying what you wish to buy using this 500RMB and keep your fingers crossed! Tell us your wish and it might just come true! Giveaway ends this Friday 20th Dec!

Good luck everyone and Merry X'mas!!

Tattoo of the Week.

I've always wanted to share more about tattoos on my blog since it is something I like. I mean I can share about it on my Facebook/Instagram or twitter but it's just hard to keep track.

It just adds on more stuff to my blog. Besides the fact that I talk about every other random things from Social Media, Sex, to news, gadget, events and even my most hated topic - Food.

So whatever. Here is my Tattoo share of the week.

Instead of typical butterfly tattoos this is one wicked moth tattoo. I like how the design is when it mashes up the few things. Interpretation of tattoo belongs to me, so I might be wrong.

Anyway this tatt is by @Tattoovox_dan on Instagram. check it out.

Mr.Smith, good guys don't always wear white.

#MusicMonday - PENTATONIX

Been awhile since I did a #MusicMonday post! I've always wanted to share with you guys about this band! They are really good and for those of you who watches "The Singoff" previously would probably remember them!

This is the Pentatonix, not power ranger.

From Wikipedia:

Pentatonix is an American a cappella group of five vocalists, Scott Hoying, Kirstie Maldonado, Mitch Grassi, Avi Kaplan and Kevin Olusola, originating from Arlington, Texas. The group won the third season of The Sing-Off on NBC, singing an a cappella arrangement of "Eye of the Tiger", originally performed by the band Survivor, as their victory song. Pentatonix won $200,000 and a recording contract with Sony.[3][4] Their 2012 debut EP, PTX Vol. 1, charted at #14 on the Billboard 200, and their 2013 release, PTX Vol. 2, debuted #10 on the Billboard 200. Pentatonix is currently preparing for their worldwide tour in 2014.[5]

So they are pretty damn awesome! And they have something for X'mas!

If you really go and watch their videos, you can tell that they have come a long way! Their not so well made and raw videos has now become very well coordinated and very nicely finished videos!

A cover of one of my favourite songs. That's how it was, 5 person sitting there and just doing their thing. True talent.

This mashup has to be one of my favourite work of theirs. so pretty darn cool!

I really like these guys. I wish I could be part of a group like this. I don't think I can really sing so maybe I will just go "dong dong dong" or "ti ti ti ti" at the background.

Mr.Smith, anybody wanna form a cappella group with me?

Merry Christmas Kor,

how is everything in heaven for Christmas? I am sure you guys up there have abundance of everything in heaven and I know you are having a peaceful time and I sure hope you are watching over us feeling proud of your wife and kids and also "satisfied" with my performance as an uncle over the last 1 year.

The one word I would use to describe this 1 year without you would be "UNREAL". I still can't believe that you are not around. Sometimes I think about the things you do, the things that you said and the plans we had as a family. I can still feel your presence like you have never left us. It feels like you are just a call away and one day when I open the door, you will be seated there asking me why am I back so late and you want to play your favourite mahjong with me. I hope it is true that I can just call you, I hope that you are still there for me like you always were.

This post to you have been in my head for the longest time but never can I find the courage to write it without crying again. I told myself that I have to be strong for you and everyone around me but it's not easy at all. And in fact it is your 3 treasure that make things so much easier for the adults. I've been trying my best to spent more time with them, to be the man and role model like how you were once to me. I might not be the one but I am trying my very best to be the very best. I love spending time with them and I hope they do too.

Nat's 7th birthday/ Christmas Party 2013
Although they are very young and some might say that they do not know what is happening but I must say the family is very blessed to have this 3 kids and you must be proud. They are always talking about you and in anyway they could, they will honour you and miss you. Looking at basketball, planes and your toys, every single thing reminds us about you. Especially all the family gatherings and parties.

Your 1st birthday since you left. 7th March 2013.
Parties are different without you. I hate it that we walk into your house and not getting greeted by your loud voice. I hate it that you will not walk to me in excitement showing me something new you bought. I hate it that you are no longer around to discuss with me the games or activities that we will arrange for the kids like we always did. Like how we did the basketball theme party, how I became "fat Leo" and more. In fact, Abby is the one who is most affected I think. We can see that she will be happy during the party but every time when we need to cut a cake or take a family photo, she would just talk away and show signs of unhappiness. Kor, please bless your bao bei Abby!

On the 3rd of November,

we gathered to honour you. Did you hear your little Nat Nat playing her violin piece for you? Did you get the balloons we sent? This girl is amazing. How she tok up the role as a leader of the team. How she is always putting all the responsibility on herself to do better and out do herself. Isn't this something that runs in our blood? Taking up leadership role to perform. She is totally you.

Life is hard without you cause we miss you so much. I hate shopping for toys without you being around. I miss texting you telling you that something is on discount and if you want to buy it. I hate it that you can no longer reply all my messages. That being said, I think we found comfort thanks to technology and to be more specifically thanks to Facebook. I am sure you saw all the post that we have been posting on your wall. It gives me the feeling that you are still listening to us.

In fact it has been more than a year but I never really dare to open to files that my friends gave me. The photos and the video of your wake and funeral. I left them on my tables for more than a year. I copied them out but until now, I've not watch and view them. I only managed to open them like now.

I always enjoy talking to you but I enjoy more listening to you. Can you talk to me again?
There are so many things that I've benefitted from you over the years and even till now. I am having some of my best time thanks to your kids. Your kids makes me a better person and I really hope I can make them better too. Help them to grow up the way you want them to be.

#RunWithWill

Ever since your departure, Kimmy started running and taking part in running events. I started picking up running again few months earlier. I remember how you use to make me round when i was a little fat boy. Nothing much has changed for me cause I am still fat but just way older. Everytime when I am tired during my run, I feel like you are there running with me, asking me to get my ass moving. I can feel and hear you in my head. So Kimmy and I decided that we should do this to honour you and your fighting spirit. We wish that one day you kids, your grand kids and everyone who knows you can be part of it. I've been updated the page and I must say I was very touched by some of the entries we have gotten so far. I really appreciate everyone that took time to fill up the form. It might just be an entry to anyone but I means a lot to us. It is the legacy of you that we want to honour.

I still talk about you a lot. Like you've never left. I talk about you with my friends, with new people I meet. I am proud of you, proud to have a brother like you. Proud that you are a brother, father, leader and a brave fighter. And I have to thanks all my friends who have been around to say the things that I need to hear to make me feel better and at the same time bear with the fact that I'm always talking about you.

I can't help it but to buy this additional Optimus prime to add it into your collection for X'mas. There are just some habits that cannot be changed. I hope you like it and I hope you are fine with how I've placed it.

Kor, I really miss you and I wish I can see you again some day.

Merry Christmas Kor.

Tattoo of the week - Owl Tattoo.

I'm a big fan of owl tattoos. I've always wanted one but I couldn't decide on the style when I last spoken to my tattoo artist. To be an owl symbolises wisdom, experience and a little bit of mysterious.

When I talk about style of owl tattoos, you can actually see that there are more than a few styles here: (Please do not quote me on the style's name, I am no professional in art of tattoos. I just like them)

The type that you can add element onto it. Skull, Diamonds, Clock, locks are pretty popular.

A really cutesy one which is totally not my style.

A really realistic one which is something I might prefer actually.

One which is in between cute and realistic. A more traditional type.

A really colourful one.
But I found the one which is really like which I am calling it Tattoo of the week!

I never thought of such a design before at all!

P.S: All photos does not belongs to me and source are unclear thus did not credit. If any of the pictures belongs to you, please feel free to contact me.

Do you want a kid? or maybe 533 kids? A "Delivery man" review.

$
0
0
At some part of your life (usually when you were young and naive or old enough to experience paternal and maternal instinct) you would imagine having a nice family with your partner and maybe a kid or two to form this thing call the "Happy Family".  Are you sure it's all happy family?

depositphotos.com
This is one thing that I always talked about to many of my family blogger friends like Sengkangbabies who has 4 kids and also my own mum and brother. "How much am I willing to sacrifice to have kids? And is it even worth the time and money?"

Parenting is one of my biggest fear if I may put it. I love kids, I love playing with my niece and nephews and I've a long resume of baby sitting and it's definitely not the late hours or diapers changing that is scaring me.

What scares me the most is the fact that your "input" is not equal to your "output". I've seen the "best" parents on earth, giving their only son everything he ever needs. Money, school, a good "green house" to ensure that he grows up to be successful and has a good future. In the end? The son took the dad's money, not take care of them and not even visit them after he got married. Where else on the other hand, I've seen the opposite even when the parents didn't do as much. This is why the Chinese have this saying that goes "家家有本难念的经“。You will never know what you will get when it comes to family making.

As for myself, I do have a dad but he's never the biggest role model in my life and I've no idea what kind of dad I would be. I love to shop, I love to party, I love to do things spontaneously. Those are  not signs of being a good dad for sure. I always remember me asking my brother, how does one know he is ready to be a dad? How does one just jump in? My brother answer to me was we never know when we will be ready, but we just do it and we will be ready. I am not sure if I am ready to change my lifestyle and give up buying my toys to buying their toys really.  So do I want a kid?

Just when you thought having 1 or 2 kids is like impossible, what about having 533 kids?

Delivery Man
From DreamWorks Pictures comes "Delivery Man", the story of an affable underachiever David Wozniak (Vince Vaughn), whose mundane life gets twisted in a knot when he finds out that he fathered 533 children via sperm donations made twenty years earlier. In debt to the mob and rejected by his pregnant girlfriend, things couldn't look worse for David when he is hit with a lawsuit from 142 of the 533 twenty-somethings who want to know the donor's identity. As David struggles to decide whether he should reveal his true identity, he embarks on a journey that leads him to discover not only his true self, but the father he could become as well.

What can I say about this show? If you've watch a Vince Vaughn's show you would know what to expect. Or at least what type of humour to expect. The good thing is that it's consistent and the bad thing is we know it's Vince being Vince. The usual underdog, getting himself into trouble at every corner of his life and he will do what he think it is right and good thing just comes along. THAT.

So what's good about this show? It made me cry. No, not because it's that bad but because it's really touching. As bizarre as it sounds for someone to have 533 kids, it still managed to touch me at the end of the show. And if you put in some effort to do a little search, you will know that it IS possible and it had happened as someone holds the records of most number of kids recorded at 800+.

And by the way, if you find this story kinda familiar (and at the same time you are into French movies), it is because this is actually a "remake" or a French movie in 2011 - Starbuck.

So did this show change my view about having a kid (or 533)? I can't say much as of now although I'm not too sure if my wife would be reading this but I would like to share this quote:

This is what I believe. Being a father is more than just paying the bills, you have to be his/her best friend, role model, listening ear and more importantly the guardian angel to ensure he or she grows up to their best potential.

If you need to cry a little in the cinema, you can go for this show to get touched or maybe Vince Vaughn dry humour can do the job too.

Final Verdict: 3/5 popcorns.

Here's the trailer for the delivery man:

Mr.Smith's 2013

It's time of the year again to brag about what have happened on this blog over the year. Being the mega stats whore, I actually wanted to do a break down of the number of post and the stats and all but I realize it's too much effort involved and too little return to it.

But I still managed to do something simple.

Total post crafted in 2013: 244
Total post published : 218
Total post saved as draft : Do the math yourself.

Below is a break down in months:

Interesting how I posted so much in Jul when I was overseas for a few days.
One of the reasons why I like to blog is because it keeps track of my "movement". Actually I even wanted to do a comparison year to year to look at the growth but I am too lazy and also because...

So to follow the tradition, I would just do a summary of the year instead! (This is 2012)

New Tattoo

And I will start the year's summary with my kickass awesome New Tattoo!

This 3 words are actually words by Lao Tzu which inspired Zen Master, NBA best coach - Phil Jackson who inspired me through his book 11 rings. Both patience and compassion is something which I really lacks.

My Acting Career

2013 is full of surprises and not only did it surprise many but I surprised myself as well. Although I am not in Ah Boys to man but I was actually on a couple of videos which I am kinda impressed myself. LOL.

My very own Web Drama

And because of this, I actually got onto the newspaper for the very 1st time! And the auntie at the kopitiam actually recognized me! WAHAHAHAH..

My very own "movie"

So I kinda volunteered myself for a documentary about my excessive use of social media and it was part of EUFF!

My very own MTV

And along with this two pretty girls I was the MTV male lead. Actually only male character.

My recent Taobao video.

And oh, I was kinda on Radio too! Power98 to be exact!

My Modeling Career

And so I shamelessly went for a photoshoot for an online T-shirt shop when the owner invited me to be part of it and that kickstarted my model career. which did not pick up either.  More.

And with that, I shamelessly call myself the hottest MALE blogger in Singapore.

Evidence of me being at DHC beauty event. See, I'm awesome!

Talking about SEX

It ain't my blog if I didn't talk anything about sex right? And the highlight has to be some leaked sex picture or something. Lucky for you guys is that it ain't my picture.

Jenell and Jamie

iTroll

With all these talent I've, I can't say I didn't see this coming. Me teaching others how to be bloggers and also getting interviewed by TIMES magazine.

And of course talking about one of the biggest news in Singapore's blogosphere, our very own "you don't give me give gifts I give you jialat jialat" blogger. Janiqueel. (I wonder if she is back actually.)

iDraw

Been awhile since i was drawing and thanks to a friend's (who I shall talk about later) recommendation, I started doodling again and I've been sharing some of them on this space too!

But if you wish to see more, you can always visit my doodle tumblr!

 iTravel

For those who knows me well enough, I'm actually a person who doesn't likes to travel a lot on my own because I'm stingy. So thanks to OMY I actually got to visit Boracay! And the best part was the trip was I travelled with many pretty girls! :X

Milestone of Smithankyou.com

- The Facebook Page

After fighting against it for the longest time, wondering who would like it and also why do I need a page and shamelessly call myself a public figure, I succumb to the idea of it because it is easier to run a contest. I created a page for myself. And also trying hard to be non-mainstream, my page is a fictional character page. I'm unreal.

- The Sidekick (That's packed with a good kick)

Something that I've been toying with for the longest time. Like getting someone to share this space. It's not easy to get another person who you like (and is pretty) and can work together. I've got my very own sidekick Adine! She is none other than the person who got me drawing again. So not only can she write but also draws for me! cool shit!

And she does Muay Thai. So don't mess with me or get kicked!!
And the other 2013 milestones...

So I guess 2013 was pretty cool for me.

I spent more time with my brother's kids.
I started cycling,

running and all.

And I also started READING! Yes me reading. In fact quite a bit. I surprise myself finishing 5 books since July.

Watched the most talked about show in America drama - Breaking Bad.

Finally met Ann Kok zeh zeh in person.

Lost a very good working partner aka my office wife.

Got a really awesome intern

Attended the #OMYBlogawards2013 , got ousted in the competition (again) but got my min of fame on stage for best dress. A total test of popularity over my non-existence writing talent.

Brought the kids to their cold storage run as promised.

Dunked the Basketball with the rim lowered down. No shame at all.

Got onto Taobao and very addicted.

Lost 10kg earlier part of the year and put back on 7kg now. (kinda stupid)

and the best part?  I BECAME A UNICORN LIKE FINALLYYYYY!!!
I am unicorn NOT COW!
Mr.Smith, Awesome 2013 is awesome. 2014 please be better!

Happy 2014!

Welcome to the brand new year!! 2014 is going to be LEGEN... WAIT FOR IT....

I am not too sure about you guys but I am a person who hates the year end. There are more than just a handful of reasons why I hated year end. Besides the fact that it is the holiday seasons where clients just disappears and work seems so slow and so not sexy, parties where you spend a lot more money and all you get in return is get fat.

It is also the raining season where you can hardly go out and play. Above all, the most painful thing about year end is because it is the time where we "look back".

We spend time every year setting goals and targets, new year resolution and what not but only to realize that we get distracted somewhere in between year after year and maybe not all but most of them are not being achieved at the end of it. The fact also comes served as a very cold dish to you that 1 year has past and you have a year less and a year closer to death, time is not always on your side and this is how procrastination has fucked you.

I'm never good dealing with the feeling of nostalgia. Looking back at the people who were once around me, people that come in and out of our lives. I am one of those people who treasure the thing and people around me a lot but more often than not I do not look like that. Recently I've spent a lot of time thinking about me and my friends.

The guys I used to spend most of my weekends with. The "normal~" gang.
I am one of those really blessed ones that my friends have accepted me for who I am, despite how impatient, direct (in terms or speech and things I want to say) and physically unavailable I am. I am always busy with some other people, doing stuff attending events or just choose to be alone at times. I have good people, guardian angel around me when I needed help or just someone to be there. People remember me and celebrates my birthdays so I guess many can put it in a way that I'm always the popular friend but I realized that people in my life come and go and it's partly because I never really make an effort to keep any friend specifically. I would put in effort trying to be in contact with everyone once in awhile, I will give my helping hand and listening ears to anyone who needs it, but I am never one who will always be there or make an effort to maintain a close friendship for a long period of time. I guess I do spread myself too thin sometimes.

Some of my favourite co-workers. Probably my favourite working environment after so many years and places.
If you are my friend reading this, I would like to apologize for the fact that I never call on important days, neither do I remember your birth dates, the lack of initiative to hold outings or dinner and maybe even missing out gatherings because I double booked or maybe just because I wish to stay at home and watch some porn. (heh, talking about priorities.) But I have to confess that I do miss each and everyone of you, from Secondary school to poly days, my ex colleagues, army kakis to many more. I hope I've touched your life before in one way or the other. I do not dare to ask for the slightest chance that you miss me too but I wish to tell you that I misses you guys in every other way.

Me and my armymates. The only thing we probably share is the bunk, not much of a common interest but I still miss the days we spent doing stupid stuff together.
I guess people grow up, people move on. Making new like-minded friends, getting attached, getting married, having a kid or two, relocating, getting a new jobs and many more other reasons why people gets drifted apart. It's a shame how sometimes something really good just can't stay good forever.  I guess this is just growing up.

Mr.Keong and I. Sometimes I've no idea why he hangsout with me considering how much I abuses him time to time. There's a lot of things that he does that I do not agree and I'm sure it's not 1 sided but we accept (kinda) each other the way we are. Or maybe because he is single for the longest time thus he have more time for me. LOL.
The interesting thing about friendship is that we are not exclusively committed to each other. We do not have written rules or how friends should treat each other and neither do we need to confess our love or even "breakup" with anyone with the classic "I don't friend you anymore" line.

Unless you are a follower of the bro code. Else, we do not have rules for being friends.
We come and go and if we are comfortable we stay. That being said, it also gets a little complicated when one party do a little more trying to keep everyone together while others just don't prioritize you in their lives.
Growing up together. I spent some of my happiest time with these boys and it's always comfortable hanging out with them cause we know how stupid we were when we were young cause we were all part of it together.
Of course, all said and done, we will never know who you will find in your life. Regardless of friends or partner, everyone will have someone out there who is willing to do something for you, grab a grenade for you or even put his hands on a blade for you. Maybe just that we, especially Asian do not tell that to each other that much. He or she might not hangout with you often but when needed you can always count on him like 1 2 3 where else on the other hand, those who are always around you during good times might not be there for you when the bad times come. I guess what matters the most is we have had each other in some part of our lives before.

Regardless of how long your friendship is, my instant brudder. The chiggar. LOL.
Being a blogger also means that I will meet unlimited people and making unlimited number of pretty bloggers who turns friend. We help each other by sharing our post, reading each others' blog and also chat online but we only meet up when there are events most of the time. That is a new type of friendship that not everyone can experience and I've no doubt in that either. I have no idea how much they treat me as friends, but I do treat them as friends and miss them too. Especially when they are all hot.

Pretty Bloggers,  pretty bloggers everywhere.
Good times with folks I met online. Not always together physically but always connected.
I've no idea how a 2014 kinda happy post ended up a little emo as I write on. This is the problem with not planning your post ahead I guess. Regardless of what is going to happen, I guess it's magical how people came into and left your life regardless of how or how long. Appreciate the people around you and love more in this 2014.

My evil twin back in school days. Miss those days back in school.
I was fortunate to start 2014 with some friends this year. We had a pretty chill and relax party at my place. It was pretty cool until they show Twilight on the TV and I almost lost a few friends instantly.
Countdown to 2014.
My best friends, my sister who shares most of my interest but more talented and less shameless. It is a blessing that we are so close despite of the age gap. It's one of the best gift my mum has given me. And my silly wife. Although we don't share a lot in common in terms of interest but she is always there for me and tries to put up with my lame shit. (I guess she doesn't have much choice.) LOL
I guess one of my resolution for 2014 would be to spend more time with friends around me physically instead of just via Twitter or Facebook. And if you didn't see a picture of yourselves here, I am sorry and that also means I haven't take much pictures with you, it doesn't means that you have been forgotten.

Was running through the top 100 song list of hot fm and I found this song. It's funny how I've never heard of this song.

Frankly, I've no clue who they are.
Kinda emo and I really like it. Gives me a very old school Celine Dion or Whitney Houston feel. Vocal not as strong but I think this song is something the mentioned will sing very well.

And this song for some reason reminded me of.. erm.. this man.

Lyrics:

I like to say we gave it a try
I like to blame it all on life
Maybe we just weren’t right
But that’s a lie, that’s a lie

And we can deny it as much as we want
But in time our feelings will show
Cause sooner or later
We'll wonder why we gave up
The truth is everyone knows

Almost, almost is never enough
So close to being in love
If I would have known that you wanted me
The way I wanted you
Then maybe we wouldn't be two worlds apart
But right here in each other's arms

And we almost, we almost knew what love was
But almost is never enough

If I could change the world overnight
There'd be no such thing as goodbye
You'll be standing right where you were
And we'd get the chance we deserve
Try to deny it as much as you want

But in time our feelings will show
Cause sooner or later
We'll wonder why we gave up
The truth is everyone knows

Almost, almost is never enough
(We were) So close to being in love
If I would have known that you wanted me
The way I wanted you
Then maybe we wouldn’t be two worlds apart
But right here in each other's arms
Yeah we almost, we almost knew what love was
But almost is never enough

Eh.. please ah.. Almost leh..

Best Complain Letter ever...

I am one of those people who always believe in making others' life a little better especially when it comes to treat the service staff right. They are already trapped in a job that they probably hate but only doing it for the pay thus making their life bad is just mean. We should always show sympathy like what great Dr.Sheldon Cooper taught us.

That being said, if they make life difficult for us it would even be worst considering that fact that we are also probably stuck in a job we hate and earning little money so we can buy things we don't need and on top of that paying money for a bad service we didn't asked for.

Not sure how many of you would actually make the extra miles to complain each and every time you get a bad service, I would. As much as I believe in making things good for people who treats me right - for example giving tips, filling up the feedback form to point out the good service or saying a simple thank you. However on the other hand, I also believe in giving complain positive feedback to companies who needs it. Not too sure about you guys but one thing for sure, I am not the only one.

Stumble upon online is a long and enjoyable complain letter by Australia Blogger - Rich Wisken.  An enjoyable complain letter I say? (Full Email, jump to bottom on this article) Well, I guess not for everyone, not for Jetstar as well as not for another blogger online - Bern Morley Mamamia.com.au.

She went on to explain the complain letter part by part about how she didn't like it and here's one part of the complain letter followed by her comment:

Rich's opening.

Bern's comment.

I mean everyone could make the reference to some of the things Rich is saying so I'm really not too sure what is her deal. Not too sure if she drives a Suzuki or if she is a French prostitute. I guess her take was that Rich is belittling a poor guy for attention. My point is she is just kicking a fuss on Rich just to get attention as well no? I mean unless she drives a Suzuki.

I hope I don't sound like I'm dissing Bern's article just to get attention as well but my point is that I'm with Rich. I think his sense of humour is gold but while laughing at it we have to understand that he probably didn't have to write this letter if the Couldnotgiveashit triplets managed to shift him somewhere or at least drop their last name's legacy for awhile and actually give a shit. Jabba the hutt did nothing wrong, what is wrong here is that

1. Jetstar did not make him buy a second ticket and
2. the service Rich is getting.

I really don't see what is so bad about a humourous complain letter over one of those that goes straight to the point and nobody even take a glance at it. I have no clue if Rich slept with Bern and didn't call her back but this last part of her article was seriously uncalled for from a blogger to another: (Or she expects Rich to be kicking a fuss right on the spot on the plane? Which would she prefer really.)

Screenshot from Bern's reply to Rich.
Whichever the case is, I hope such traveling experience would never happen to me. As in I hope I would never become the answer of the riddle one day.

What's your thought? Would you have done to same as Rich or even Bern?

Full Email from Rich to Jetstar:

--------------------------------------

Dear Jetstar,

Do you like riddles? I do, that’s why I’m starting this letter with one. What weighs more than a Suzuki Swift, less than a Hummer and smells like the decaying anus of a deceased homeless man? No idea? How about, what measures food portions in kilograms and has the personal hygiene of a French prostitute? Still nothing? Right, one more try. What’s fat as fuck, stinks like shit and should be forced to purchase two seats on a Jetstar flight? That’s right, it’s the man I sat next to under on my flight from Perth to Sydney yesterday.

As I boarded the plane, I mentally high-fived myself for paying the additional $25 for an emergency seat. I was imagining all that extra room, when I was suddenly distracted by what appeared to be an infant hippopotamus located halfway down the aisle. As I got closer, I was relieved to see that it wasn’t a dangerous semi-aquatic African mammal, but a morbidly obese human being. However, this relief was short-lived when I realised that my seat was located somewhere underneath him.
Soon after I managed to burrow into my seat, I caught what was to be the first of numerous fetid whiffs of body odour. His scent possessed hints of blue cheese and Mumbai slum, with nuances of sweaty flesh and human faeces sprayed with cologne - Eau No. Considering I was visibly under duress, I found it strange that none of the cabin crew offered me another seat. To be fair, it’s entirely possible that none of them actually saw me. Perhaps this photo will jog their memories.
Pinned to my seat by a fleshy boulder, I started preparing for a 127 Hours-like escape. Thankfully though, the beast moved slightly to his left, which allowed me to stand up, walk to the back of the plane and politely ask the cabin crew to be seated elsewhere. I didn’t catch the names of the three flight attendants, but for the purpose of this letter, I’ll call them: Chatty 1, Chatty 2 and Giggly (I’ve given them all the same surname - Couldnotgiveashit). After my request, Chatty 1 and Chatty 2 continued their conversation, presumably about how shit they are at their jobs, and Giggly, well, she just giggled. I then asked if I could sit in one of the six vacant seats at the back of the aircraft, to whichGiggly responded, “hehehe, they’re for crew only, hehehe“. I think Giggly may be suffering from some form of mental impairment.

I tried to relocate myself without the assistance of the Couldnotgiveashit triplets, but unfortunately everyone with a row to themselves was now lying down. It was then I realised that my fate was sealed. I made my way back to Jabba the Hutt and spent the remainder of the flight smothered in side-boob and cellulite, taking shallow breaths to avoid noxious gas poisoning. Just before landing, I revisited the back of the plane to use the toilet. You could imagine my surprise when I saw both “crew only” rows occupied by non-crew members. I can only assume Giggly let them sit there after she forgot who she was and why she’s flying on a big, shiny metal thing in the sky.
Imagine going out for dinner and a movie, only to have your night ruined by a fat mess who eats half your meal then blocks 50% of the screen. Isn’t that exactly the same as having someone who can’t control their calorie intake occupying half your seat on a flight? Of course it is, so that’s why I’m demanding a full refund of my ticket, including the $25 for an emergency row seat.
I’m also looking to be compensated for the physical pain and mental suffering caused by being enveloped in human blubber for four hours. My lower back is in agony and I had to type this letter one-handed as I’m yet to regain full use of my left side. If I don’t recover completely, I’ll have to say goodbye to my lifelong dream of becoming Air Guitar World Champion. If that occurs, you will pay.

To discuss my generous compensation package, email me at: richwisken@hotmail.com, or tweet me at: @RichWisken

No regards, Rich Wisken.

It's time of the month again where I show off my Taobao SEA buy!

#happyparcelday ? More like #DamnBlardySuperHappyParcelDay

Other than showing off my buys over and over again, I will be sharing some of the links of the things I've purchased. This is partly because I've been getting too many requests on the images for links and also quite a few questions. I guess I will start with the purchases link and followed by the FAQ.

*Point to note: there are always more than 1 seller selling the same thing so feel free to find alternate ones if you think any of the things should be any cheaper.

F . A . Q:

Q: How to buy at Taobao ah?
A: Good people at Taobao has got the answer! Link

Q: How do I ship to Singapore? I thought Taobao doesn't send to Singapore?
A: Good news, the (not so) new Taobao SEA does! They have four selected partners working with them on that! Not just Singapore but also Malaysia!

Q: Do I still need a 3rd party shipping company or middle man? Where do I find them?
A: Nope! The good thing about Taobao SEA is that everything is done on the site itself. You do not need to find your own middle man or pay the seller, pay the shipping bit by bit, everything is done seamlessly on 1 site as if you are buying directly from 1 person.

Q: How much is the shipping? Is it really saving us money? Is it worth it?
A: Shipping cost as below. Every 1st Kg is 35 RMB which is around $5 SGD and 24 RMB there after.

Q: How many days does it takes to reach Singapore?
A: Usually for the forwarder that I uses (4px), it takes them about 3-4 days to reach Singapore which is pretty standard, but for the seller delivery to 4px, you guys might need a bit of luck because it differs from seller to seller. I've had a seller who told me that she only send her product once a week so if you are lucky and you click on purchase before the cycle you will get it rather quickly cause their domestic delivery usually takes no more than 3 days. Else, if you miss the cycle you will have to wait for 1 week before she send her product out.

Q: Got English version or not? I see Chinese text until I want to faint already.
A: If you are on Google chrome, you can actually use google translate which is pretty good but I prefer the original Chinese context.

Q: The things you buy so cheap. Is it real?
A: It really depends on what is real to you.  If you are skeptical, you can always message the seller for more information. They are usually honest about it, if it's A grade OEM products they will give you a headsup.

Q: Any final tips?
A: Always search around for option and not jump onto the 1st shop cause each items can be sold by different seller at different price. When buy in bulk, always use the blue "water droplet" icon, talk to seller and ask for discount or free domestic shipping. Also, always bookmark your stores you like, cause they will always have new items!

I hope I answered some of your questions on this post. Feel free to drop me a comment below or Tweet me at @Smithankyou. I will be more than happy to answer your questions regarding Taobao or sex

Here is the video I did last month on the things I've purchased previously! Enjoy!

GYM: Got Your Makeup?

$

Some girls take 5 minutes to get ready. Others take 5 minutes and forever. It doesn’t matter if we’re going out to have coffee, getting the groceries or just plain walking the dog. We have to look good while doing it. Looking presentable is the least we can do simply because #nofilter rarely happens in real life.

Then there’s this grey area – do you put on make up when you’re going to the gym? And if you do, you've probably heard these questions before...

“What for? You’re going to sweat it out anyway.”
Do you not comb your hair before leaving the house too?

“Siao ah?”
Yeah, we do make madness look good.

“Who do you want to impress?”
No one. I just choose not to look deader than a zombie.

“Why.”
Because I can.

Boy, the men don’t get it.

For the girls who head to the gym bare faced, I hate you. Ok no I don’t. Not all of us are blessed with flawless skin. Your au-nautral milkshake brings the boys to the yard while my dark circles and blemishes … well, don’t do shit.

So how thick a slab do you wear on your face? Or do you apply just enough to cover your flaws? Natural looking make-up takes work too, I know. No hate and it's not a competition but oh, the things we girls do to look good naked!

History of me and cycling.

Cycling has never been my favourite sports considering the fact that I only managed to cycle without the "4 Wheel" drive system at the age of 12. I was and still am a late boomer when it comes to anything sporty. Although I am pretty active these days, I grew up as a clumsy little fat boy and my mum never liked it that I go out and play because i will always come home with bruises and what not all over me.
That's what I do when I was younger.
So I shifted out away from my mum 2 X'mas ago into Punggol where it's the best place in town to cycle because of the view and nice wide roads. I started cycling together with my wife but we are no road riders or one of those guys who cycle in big group. We are just two humble "PCN (Park Connectors) Riders"
One of those nights and my wife looks like a human canon ball.
I always knew about OCBC Cycle and how fun it could be but being a noob cyclist, joining a cycling event never ever crossed my mind cause I was really worried that I get stampede all over.

Yes, I imagine I'm Simba.
But guess what? I DID IT!

The Day Before The Ride

It's funny how I started my 1st cycling event at KL Malaysia instead of Singapore but nonetheless the experience was superb. The group met early and we got our bikes transported over to Malaysia. But 1st I need to thanks my cousin who woke up early and help us send our bike from Punggol to the meeting point early on a Saturday morning.

The power of Honda Fit. Fitting two Mountain bikes into one.
And before we know it we were at KL! And making this trip even more awesome are the companions we had.

We are glad to be accompanied by season riders like Kevin, Weili, Siva and Airani as well as #TeamNoob that consist of me, my wife, my grumpy sports partner - Jac and Jon who is also an Ice cream man.

We always ask ourselves why we do this to ourselves. We did Zumba, Mizuno Run, Roller Blading and now cycling together.
This is the ice cream man. Just when I thought I'm talkative, I've found myself a match. LOL.
On the 1st day of arrival, we were brought to watch this Ultimate Foldies race where riders lap around in very very high speed. I swear I was a little worried thinking that this will be the same for the community ride and I might just lose my life from the race. Which obviously ain't gonna happen. In case you are curious about the different type of races;

There is something for everyone!
And one of my favourite chart off their site was this one. The one that explains what type of bike can enter which races.

And sorry guys, no unicycles are allowed.
Oh oh, and we also saw the Men's open Criterium flag off as well as the winner. Man, these guys are fast!

There are 3 things that he did there that I can't:

1. Cycle that fast
2. Salute, bike moving forward with no hands on it and
3. fit into the super hero looking suit.

All the watching is over and it's about time we get some action ourselves!

#MessyHairIsMessy
We woke up early and cycled ourselves to the starting point from the hotel! Even the ride from hotel to starting point was pretty exciting!
All the 48km guys getting ready to start!
What does it means when the 48km guys are done? It means it's our turn to start! I'm not really a very good cyclist so I can't do any selfies while I was cycling so all we did was before the race got started. Which anyway not like you guys really like my selfies. HAHA

Enough is enough, I promise.
If you noticed on the pic above, we were wearing a Dux Helm. Dux helm is super cool cause you can wear it with or without the visor on! yes, they are one of the only helmet with in-built visors. You can actually get them at Bikes N Bites in Singapore.

The Ride

The ride was superb. I get to cycle around KL and look at KL like I never did before. We all know KL is one of the busiest city in the world and it is no joke for any noob for me to be cycling around KL on a usual day so I am very glad we are given this chance with the road closed and all. The route was pretty challenging especially for peeps who ain't used to cycling as there were around 4 climbs and you really need to engage the right gear and also some power to get yourself up. During the community ride, you can see many of the bikes stopping and pushing their bike up. I am very proud of the wife as she didn't do that! Although she was a little slower than usual because of the slopes, she still managed to get it done! We spent around an hours to complete the 1st 12km and I spent around another 30ish min for my 2nd lap. But I was feeling like this on the final slope during the 2nd lap:
Me summoning my inner nine tails chakra!
Being a very competitive person, the whole event mood did push me to finish faster than I usually could have done. The adrenaline rushed was so good and I feel like I could have done more! In fact I regret I didn't go for the 48km Challenge! Although it was a community ride and not a race, the feeling of overtaking someone is just sweeet. #MaleEgo

5 Noob Tips For Noob cyclists.

So if you are planning to join the OCBC Cycle Singapore 2014 and you are very worry because you are noob like me, here are some tips from another noob who just finished the Malaysia ride.

1. Identify the "indecisive" riders and avoid them. They are the cyclist who cannot make up their mind to cut or go straight. Those are the people who cause "traffic accidents"

2. Always watch where you are riding and be prepared to stop because you do not know when the person in front of you choose to stop or there's holes on the road (applied to MY mainly, I don't think there's much holes in SG's road.)

3. Sunglasses/Visor is very important, even if you are not afraid of the sun, the dust on the road can be pretty bad. Especially if you are wearing contact lenses like me and going on for 24km or 48km on the road in that kinda speed is no joke.

4. Don't dismount and push. This one is something I feel personally, it might be different for others. The idea is that pushing and walking is actually more tiring and slower.

5. Always engage the right gear! This is very important. I use to be one of those BMX Fixie cyclist and using gears seems to be such a chore to me. (especially when you have the habit of driving auto car) Changing gears will save your live really!

More pictures that I want to post but I've no more story to tell.

The very hospitable representative from OCBC! She kept calling me "One of Singapore Top Blogger" *SHY*

We did it!

The man (yes, man) who made it all possible - @motorman

I always knew my back view looked better.

Still can't believe she actually did this with me! Thank you!
And the classic jump shot.
 And also...

Here is a very cool video by Kevin! I thought the idea of video-ing himself thru the mirror and the road at the same time is pure genius. I wish I've such gadget too! So much good memories watching this!

Now I just can't wait for OCBC Singapore!

Food blogging has to be one of the type of blogs that is easiest to create content. Don't get me wrong, I don't mean easy to blog as in something everyone can do very well but I'm saying that they are the ones with the most among of ready content everywhere. I mean if it's not the quality of the post we are talking about, it is one of those things that anyone can try doing right? Keyword - try.

I've seen bloggers sending in Email asking for free food in return for a POSITIVE blogpost or worst still, weird startup agency by bloggers telling cafe or restaurant that they get 40-50 blogposts for a small sum of money. Frankly, I'm quite impress with the promised KPI of 40-50 blogpost. It's kinda of a stretched if you ask me.  40 blogpost and everything positive? OR are these people just trying to get free food?

So I don't usually blogs about food...

That being said, I hate blogging about food (I've been naggy about this) because I'm really not good at it. I'm kinda a sore loser cause I only like to do things I'm good at. For example trolling people or talking about sex.

Anyway...

Enough of digressing, I want to talk about this very "famous" prawn noodle store. The Whampoa Prawn Noodles at Tekka Centre.

Havoc blonde "auntie"*
Question 1: Why is it "Famous" with the ""
Answer: It is famous to me cause the auntie selling noodles there is my friend and it just keeps appearing on my Facebook feed until I really crave so much for it but the thing is that they are open in the morning and closes by 1 or 2pm because it gets sold out.

Question 2: So it is at Whampoa or Tekka?
Answer: There are two branches, 1 at Whampoa and the other at Tekka and the one with the pretty blonde auntie is at Tekka.

With these questions out of the way, let's take a look at our two stars for today.

Mr.Soup Prawn Mee Hoon

The Good - To me, this is a very traditional type of prawn noodles, I like how the prawns has no shells, being sliced into halves, very easy to eat. The optional Chilli fakes gives the whole dish a new life. And my favourite? Has to be the very shiok fried pork lard. HAHA.

The Bad - I think this is the nature of this dish and a short coming. The soup based gets "thicker" over the day and when you visit early in the morning 8ish am to beat the crowd like what I did, it simply means the soup base will not be as strong as how I imagined it to be.

Price: $3/$4

Verdict: 6.5/10.

Up next,

Little Miss Dry Prawn Noodle + Kway Tiao

The Good: Now this is the champion for me. The mix between the noodle and kway tiao gives me the option within one bowl. I've no clue how else to say it other than I am super happy with this dry option.

The Bad: One is never enough.

Price: $3/$4

Verdict: 9/10 Si bei shiok but cannot give bias result of 10 points just because the havoc auntie is cute. LOL.

Overall I think it was super worth it even when I had to wake up early and travel down just to eat this. It's super accessible cause it's less than 3mins walks from Little Indian MRT station Exit C.

Bonus Shout out to 328 Cafe.

My favourite long black.
Honestly, I've no idea what's with the food stores playing number, 545, 328, if I ever have a hawker store it would be 521(Whatever food) cause 521 meanings I love you. HAHA. Cheesey.

Anyway, this special shout out is to the coffee stall which is two stalls down from 545 Prawn Noodles. It's run by this young man selling fancy coffee like long black, cuppuccino, latte and what not in the "old skool" hawker centre. I thought the idea is pretty cool! Maybe many people will say that he is locating himself at the wrong place for wrong target group because uncles and aunties will pay no more than 80cents for coffee but people like me really appreciate a nice coffee even at old skool hawker too!

So this is my little review of 545 Whampoa Prawn Noodles and I must say I am very happy about it! Totally worth the travel.

P.S: I don't how this works but I read this line on the papers all the time so I would insert it here too: "Writer Smith Leong paid for his own noodles and coffee. (Actually no, the coffee was paid by his breakfast buddy Daphne Maia) This is not a sponsored or paid review and neither did anyone agrees to pay in kind. TYVM"

*Auntie: A very weird local culture where you addresses the people who sell things "uncle" and "Auntie" - they ain't really my relatives.

Mr.Smith, how does a prawn laugh?

Art Stage 2014

I might not be the biggest follower on the trend of art or who is the hottest artist in the scene but I really enjoy going to gallery and soak myself with all these different expressions from different individual around the world.

This year at Art Stage, their 4th edition, they have brought in 8 countries and regional work. They call this year the Best of Asian Contemporary Art. 8 countries includes: China, Central Asia, India, Japan, Korea, Taiwan, and even Australia. And the SEA platforms includes artist and galleries from SG, Philippines, Thailand and Cambodia.

For the benefit of those who wish to know but don't dare to ask: From Wiki: Contemporary art is art produced at the present period in time. Contemporary art includes, and develops from, Postmodern art, which is itself a successor to Modern art.[1] In vernacular English, "modern" and "contemporary" are synonyms, resulting in some conflation of the terms "modern art" and "contemporary art" by non-specialists.

So I was lucky enough to be part of the event(not displaying my art) to check out some of the art work with my pretty part-time sidekick Axixe.

Tips from the girl: Do not wear heels, wear comfy walking shoes please.
The exhibition was massive and we were all tired out after a day of walk but it's all worth it! I don't think I will be able to showcase all of the work on my post but I've noticed a few trend just from this exhibition itself. Like the usage of skulls, butterflies, replacing human's head to other objects etc. Here's a few piece of the art that I really like! *Sorry for the poor quality of images, nothing beats seeing the real thing yourself!

Some argue that this photo is "sick" or "disgusting" but to me I feel that it's very peaceful. Like it's finally over. End of suffering. This is by Nge Lay.

Space BM. The burst of energy in this display. From Korea.
Nothing to do with religion but this is always something that I find peace in. It's like Mona Lisa but not really.
As silly as it seems, this has to be one of my favourite. I always love something like this. Remember Mojoko?
This is Mojoko's art. Always a fan. Which is why....
My version of it. heehee.
Going back in time!

This is from Yavuz Fine Art which is located in Singapore itself.. This instalment looks way better in real. It's like 3D without computer.

Really like this one too! From Galerie Du Monde by Zhong Biao from China

It's a shame I didn't have the time to go back on another day due to other commitment but I must say Art Stage is really one of those exhibition that you should go especially if you are someone like me who doesn't have the time or too lazy to travel from places to places and visit all the museums.
